AWS Activate Program for HKUST Startup Teams

Powered by Amazon Web Services (AWS) and HKUST Entrepreneurship Center (EC), AWS Activate Program is a free program open to HKUST startups that empowers you to innovate, build, and grow. Start with up to USD 5,000 AWS Promotional Credits, USD 1,000 Technical Support credits, and best practice architectural guidance, you can quickly get started on AWS, go to market faster than before, and further lower your operational costs. This program aims to accelerate HKUST startup teams product development by using a more effective tool and cost to operate and provide you opportunity to get used of cloud service.  

ELIGIBILITY:

• HKUST Startup Teams related to entrepreneurship, innovation and technopreneurship 
• Priority will be given to Startups under Dream Builder Incubation Program, CombUSTor Program and innovative projects supported by Entrepreneurship Center (EC).  

Approved HKUST Startup Teams will be eligible for:

• Up to USD 5,000 AWS Promotional Credit* for up to 2 years (credits will be granted in 2 batches, USD 1,000 &  USD 4,000)
• Up to 2 years Subscription of AWS Support Plan (Developer & Business)

* Startups previously issued AWS Promotional Credit may not be eligible to receive additional credit

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Apply at  AWS Activate Program webpage: 
   
   - Fill-in all the necessary information, make sure you have correctly input your contact information and your AWS Account
   
   - Click “Register Now” to submit your application.  
    
2. Notify HKUST EC of your submission by filling the HKUST AWS Registration Form (all application have to be verified by EC before AWS will accept your application)

AWS Activate Credits expiration dates are based on your program start date or the date you received investment, regardless of when you actually submit the application, so please apply promptly. Companies may not be eligible for AWS Activate Credits if they previously received a similar or greater amount of credit. Companies may be eligible to be "topped up" to a higher credit amount if they previously received a lower credit. For more information, please review the AWS Activate Terms & Conditions.

REMARKS:

• Your application will be proceeded upon completion of the Registration on AWS Activate Program webpage & HKUST AWS Registration Form.
• The program application is open all year round subject to the offer by AWS. 
• Details on the program offer can be found from the Quick summary of the offer to HKUST Startup Teams and subject to the terms & conditions by AWS. 
• After spending the first USD 1,000 credits, verification is required for getting the remaining USD 4,000 credits.
• The university has the right to interpret and change the Program Details, and to terminate offers made with or without prior notice and reason.
