"Equal Tour 180" Wheelchair Experience in Community「平等號180」輪椅社區體驗*

*This opportunity requires participants to be proficient in Cantonese.

Discover firsthand the circumstances of persons with disabilities in "Equal Tour 180". Guided by Hong Kong PHAB Association, participants use wheelchairs for daily community tasks, gaining invaluable insight.

"Walking" as wheelchair users, you'll appreciate the need for barrier-free access and caregiver-care receiver dynamics. This experience fosters the right mindset for PHAB (physically handicapped and able-bodied) integration.

「平等號180」讓您親身體驗傷殘人士的生活狀況。由香港傷健協會導師帶領，您將坐上輪椅在社區中完成日常生活任務，深入了解輪椅使用者的需求。

透過「行走」在社區中，您將感受無障礙設施對輪椅使用者的重要性，領略「照顧者」和「被照顧者」的心境，親身實踐「共融」。

Remark:1. Successful applicants will receive a confirmation email from connect@ust.hk, and will be able to find their application status listed as "Confirmed" on the Social Career portal/app.

2. [Penalty for withdrawal after 11 Sep 2025 and/or absence]
The event is fully subsidized by HKUST Connect. If you are unable to participate in the event as schedule, you should send us a written notification to connect@ust.hk as soon as possible, but no later than 11 Sep 2025 (Thu). Students who withdrawn after the deadline or absent from the event will be charged a HKD300 program fee.

3. [HMAW1905] The is a recognized event in the "Self-directed Experience" component of HMAW1905: Behavioral Foundations of University Education: Habits, Mindsets, and Wellness. You need to attend the event in full to get 3.5 hours.
