Kindness Walk with the Street Sleepers 愛在街頭 - 探訪露宿者服務

Ever wondered how a small act of kindness can change someone’s day? Join the Kindness Walk, an outreach initiative run in partnership with ImpactHK, an NGO that supports people experiencing homelessness through street outreach and essential services. As a volunteer, you will distribute supplies to people experiencing homelessness and others living in poverty in the Tai Kok Tsui and Sham Shui Po areas.

You’ll gain a first-hand understanding of the challenges vulnerable communities face while building empathy and deepening your awareness of social issues. Sign up to be part of the kindness movement and help make Hong Kong a more compassionate place for everyone.

Remark:

1. [HMAW1905] This is a recognized event in the "Self-directed Experience" component of HMAW1905: Behavioral Foundations of University Education: Habits, Mindsets, and Wellness. To receive 2 hours, you must attend the event in full and miss no more than 10 mins.

2. [Penalty for withdrawal after 19 Mar and/or absence] The event is fully subsidized by HKUST Connect. If you are unable to participate in the event as schedule, you should send us a written notification to connect@ust.hk as soon as possible, but no later than 19 Mar 2026 (Mon). Students who withdrawn after the deadline or absent from the event will be charged a HKD270 program fee.

3. Successful applicants will receive a confirmation email from connect@ust.hk, and will be able to find their application status listed as "Confirmed" on the Social Career portal/app.

4. Upon completion of the service, the actual service hours will be subjected to the confirmation of the organizer.

5. [Bad Weather Arrangement] The event will be cancelled if Typhoon Signal No. 8 or an Amber Rainstorm Signal (or above) is issued within 3 hours before the event commences.
