Our next event is a student-led open dialogue on Belonging in the University. In this event, we will be exploring questions on ‘belonging’, such as:

  • How do you belong or not belong in the University?
  • What helps or hinders your sense of belonging in the University?
  • How do your multiple belongings interact with your belonging in the University?

Students Shravan Ramaswamy (moderator), Deevansh Gupta, Isabel Lee, Michelle Neoh, and Alexis Yu will lead an open dialogue on these questions. We look forward eagerly to your perspectives as well!

The event is co-hosted with HKUST’s Community for Enhancing Intercultural Learning Experiences.

All are welcome!

Nexus: Belonging Research Network is a forum for discussion of research and practice on what it is to belong in Hong Kong. Convened by James Simpson (Division of Humanities, HKUST) it brings together: NGO support organizations; the people they support; policy activists in social inclusion; arts and cultural bodies; academics; students; and other friends and supporters.

The Community for Enhancing Intercultural Learning Experiences supports the efforts of faculty and staff to enhance the intercultural learning experiences and competence of students at HKUST through holding an array of events, meetings and training sessions. Coordinated by Melissa Megan (Center for Language Education, HKUST) and Beatrice Chu (Center for Education Innovation, HKUST), it works towards the University’s objective to foster a mindset of diversity that promotes inclusiveness, collegiality, and respect.
