Time:

2:30 pm - 4:00 pm

Description:

Chronic sleep deprivation can lead to a myriad of health issues, including weakened immune function, increased risk of cardiovascular diseases, impaired cognitive function, mood disorders, and weight gain. Sleep and diet are more intertwined than most people realize. This workshop will delve into how specific dietary habits and nutritional intake can significantly influence sleep quality. We will explore how diets rich in fibre, healthy fats, and proteins, combined with plenty of fruits and vegetables, can promote better sleep. Conversely, we will discuss how diets high in saturated fats, sugars, and refined carbohydrates can hinder sleep quality. We will also touch on the impact of meal timing and the consumption of stimulants like caffeine and alcohol on sleep patterns.

By understanding the relationship between nutrition and sleep, participants will learn how to make dietary choices that enhance their sleep health and avoid the pitfalls of poor sleep.
